June 25, 2025, the ancient capital of Xianyang awakened to a summer dawn as a 26-member delegation from Jeonbuk National University in South Korea, led by Head Delegate Choi Baek-ryeol and Deputy Head Choi Si-young, arrived at our campus to commence an immersive educational exchange journey between Chinese and Korean institutions.
At 9:00 AM, the college hosted a grand welcoming ceremony in the fourth-floor conference room of the administration building. President Cheng Shuqiang and Vice President Wang Yong presided over the event, joined by Lei Jian, Party Branch Secretary of Jeonbuk school, Yang Hua, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Lian Jing, Director of the Youth League Committee Office, and faculty representatives from relevant departments.
In his opening address, President Cheng extended a warm welcome to the Korean delegation, reflecting on the college's sixty years of educational heritage and highlighting the achievements of its "open-door, open-access, and internationalized education" philosophy. He emphasized that the jointly established the school of Jeonbuk with Jeonbuk National University has become a model of Sino-foreign cooperative education in the vocational education sector, with remarkable accomplishments across multiple dimensions of international education practice.
Choi Baek-ryeol expressed profound gratitude for the warm reception, noting: "Entering Shaanxi Technical College of Finance & Economics feels like stepping into an educational sanctuary where tradition seamlessly blends with modernity. Since our institutions signed the cooperation agreement in 2019, every exchange has demonstrated the sincerity and professionalism of our Chinese partners. We anticipate this study tour will enable our teachers and students to deeply experience the charm of Chinese culture while injecting new vitality into our collaboration."
Following the ceremony, the Korean delegation explored the tree-shaded campus, visiting the He Xingwen Master Studio, Cloud Finance Training Lab, Huawei ICT Accounting Industry College, and aviation simulation cabin. Delegation members frequently captured the campus scenery and advanced facilities with their cameras.
Themed "Cultural Integration, Spiritual Resonance," exchange activities unfolded successively at the Continuing Education Hall, the Indoor Sports Center, and college of Jeonbuk , creating brilliant sparks of cultural convergence between China and Korea.
At the Continuing Education Hall, academic advancement programs were recommended. Representatives from Jeonbuk National University comprehensively presented their institution's profile and strengths, covering campus distribution, academic disciplines, world rankings, and tuition scholarship policies, expressing anticipation for Jeonbuk College students to pursue further studies in Korea.
Traditional Chinese clothing culture was promoted through displays of classic Hanfu styles from Qin, Han, Tang, and Song dynasties. Guides explained the cultural significance of crossed collars, right-side closure, and tie-fastening designs using display panels and kesi specimens. During interactive sessions, our students created Hanfu accessories using abacus beads, skillfully integrating traditional elements with professional characteristics.
The Indoor Sports Center transformed into an artistic stage where various student clubs showcased their talents. Modern dance performances radiated energy, singers delivered heartfelt vocals, fashion clubs presented both traditional and contemporary wear, the tea art club created an aromatic ambiance, and taekwondo demonstrations displayed powerful precision. Jeonbuk University students also presented remarkable performances: "Crane Dance" with flowing sleeves resembling white cranes in flight, K-POP groups with dynamic songs and dances, modern dance conveying emotion through movement, and taekwondo board-breaking with breathtaking power—weaving traditional and modern art into a vibrant tapestry of youth.
Jeonbuk University also created an immersive Korean cultural experience for school of Jeonbuk students. Faculty and students performed traditional Korean songs and dances, arranged hanbok try-ons to showcase embroidered pattern aesthetics, delivered cultural lectures on dietary customs like kimchi and hanjeongsik, and organized interactive taekwondo and jegi chagi experiences, allowing students to appreciate Korean folk characteristics through joyful participation. This cultural feast built transnational bridges, deepened mutual cultural understanding, and injected new momentum into educational cooperation.
On the afternoon of June 27, "Culinary Feast, Savoring China" Sino-Korean food culture exchange warmly commenced in the faculty dining hall. Through meticulous preparations by relevant college departments, Chinese and Western Pastry students, dressed in baking uniforms, demonstrated puff pastry and cookie-making techniques to Korean teachers and students. During the demonstrations, our students displayed solid foundational skills and provided detailed explanations, with accurate Korean translation ensuring seamless integration of professional skills and cultural exchange.
Korean participants prepared traditional dishes including kimchi, tteokbokki, and gimbap, creating a delightful contrast with Chinese pastries. Faculty and students from both institutions shared meals, discussing dietary customs in a harmonious atmosphere. Choi Si-young from Jeonbuk University remarked: "Food is a vibrant carrier of culture. Today we not only tasted delicacies but also felt the inclusiveness and richness of Chinese culture through cuisine."
The study tour concluded with laughter and joy as Korean teachers and students departed with abundant harvest and nostalgia. This journey integrating academic exchange, cultural experience, and culinary sharing connected Chinese and Korean youth like a bridge, expanding broader horizons for institutional cooperation.
As President Cheng Shuqiang stated: "This study tour is not an endpoint but a new starting point for collaboration. We will utilize the school of Jeonbuk as a platform to deepen international exchanges, enabling more teachers and students to broaden their perspectives and enhance capabilities through cross-cultural practice, jointly cultivating high-quality technical talents with global vision."
Our college will leverage this event as an opportunity, building upon the high alignment of vocational education philosophies between both institutions to deepen cooperation in curriculum development, faculty-student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration, writing a new chapter in Sino-Korean vocational education cooperation.
